MOUNTAIN TALK: Why Bay Nature?

David Loeb, Co-Founder and Publisher, Bay Nature Magazine

Thursday, May 18, 2017, 7:00 p.m.

Ygnacio Valley Library, 2661 Oak Grove Road, Walnut Creek, 94598

At the end of March, David Loeb announced his retirement, effective June 30th, as publisher of the Bay Area’s premiere natural history magazine, Bay Nature, a must-read for many of us mountain people. He’s held the position for 17 years, weathering the roughest times the publishing industry has ever known. The reason: his ability to collaborate and inspire, and his commitment to high-quality journalism that tells lively stories of our region’s wildlife and open spaces. He has become an integral part of the area’s environmental community, a man dedicated to protecting, stewarding, and interpreting local natural history. Come hear how the beauty, diversity, and onerous environmental challenges of our region have inspired him to nourish Bay Nature for almost two decades.
