Description: After making our way over to Donner Canyon, we’ll climb to the rocky perch of Mt. Olympia where great views abound. From there we’ll swing over to Prospectors Gap and descend via Bald Ridge, Deer Flat and Mitchell Canyon. Wildflowers should be abundant. Allow 9 hours for this 12 mile hike with a total elevation gain of about 3200 feet. (Caution: parts of the route are steep with considerable loose rock, sturdy foot ware and trekking poles are recommended).  Bring layered clothing and plenty of water. Steady relaxed pace with a 30-minute lunch and other rest breaks. Be prepared for poison oak. Rain cancels. This hike will be shortened in case of extreme heat.
